Job Summary:

The Associate Dean for Faculty Advancement (ADFA) is the primary leader for the development of a robust support infrastructure for faculty within CoSW. The ADFA will conceptualize and lead the implementation of CoSW's strategic faculty advancement vision, which includes fostering a culture of engagement, support, and excellence as it relates to the development of faculty. This position reports directly to the Dean and is an at-will administrative appointment.
Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Advance an impactful vision for faculty advancement within CoSW.
- Develop, communicate, and assess the creative vision for CoSW's faculty support endeavors
- Articulate clear strategies for faculty advancement
- Conduct periodic assessment of developmental needs of investigators to provide appropriate guidance and support
- Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for CoSW faculty
- Collaborate with the Office of the Dean to develop financial projections for management and planning purposes
- Engage with stakeholders to establish culture of mutual accountability and recognition.
- Partner with CoSW and UK Marketing/Communication teams to disseminate information about faculty awards and accomplishments
- Coordinate and oversee the college level faculty orientation, welcome, and review/promotion processes, protocols, and programs
- Lead faculty professional development initiatives
- Develop and coordinate CoSW's nomination process for university-level faculty awards and recognition
- Collaborate with CoSW units to establish/assess minimum normative expectations associated with faculty productivity
- Develop a dynamic faculty workforce within CoSW.
- Serve as liaison between CoSW and UK Office of Faculty Advancement
- Assist with faculty recruitment, hiring, retirement, emeritus nominations
- Advise the Office of the Dean on offer development and start-up/recruitment packages and salary raise programs
- Collaborate with CoSW units to formulate annual and long-term faculty hiring plans
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to faculty recruitment and retention
- Provide leadership related to personnel matters
- Conduct exit interviews with faculty members in transition
- Coordinate promotion and/or tenure and 2-/4- year review processes, in collaboration with Faculty Advancement Promotion and Tenure Committee (FAPTC)
- Foster a network of supportive resources consistent with faculty excellence
- Serve as an advocate/ally for faculty
- Procure and manage resources – financial and otherwise – to promote faculty capacity (including incentive programs, etc.)
- Support an infrastructure consistent with developing strong networks between CoSW faculty and external partners
- Collaborate to conceptualize faculty wellbeing initiatives, in partnership with the CoSW Wellness Officer
- Cultivate an expansive environment consistent with CoSW's Diversity and Expansion efforts, and tenets outlined in accreditation standards (e.g., SACSCOC, CSWE EPAS, etc.)
As a member of CoSW faculty, this is a 9-month, tenure eligible, open rank position in the Regular Title Series. The University's mission involves three primary functions: instruction, research, and service. Each year, faculty work with the Office of the Dean to delineate their distribution of effort (DOE). This DOE outlines how faculty will spend their time. Of course, the DOE can fluctuate on an array of factors (e.g., clinical funding, new course development, etc.). Excellence in teaching/instruction, advising, professional, University, and public service is expected.

Required Education:
An earned doctorate
Required Related Experience:
- An attitude and ethic consistent with support and consultation to CoSW faculty members
- An outstanding record commensurate with a senior Associate Professor or Professor
- Two (2) years of administration or management experience OR history of progressively responsible administrative/leadership positions
- A commitment to ensuring diverse representation of people, processes, methodologies, and content areas
