Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions:
Delta College is seeking faculty members committed to the college's philosophy that education serves the greater good by providing students access to a better life. The Communications Discipline at Delta College is seeking a full-time tenure track faculty member committed to equity, retention, and completion for student success. The instructor will be responsible for effective teaching in the face-to-face, blended, and online classroom. Faculty teach a minimum of thirty contact hours over the course of an academic year. This position's primary responsibility will be to teach sections of Communication courses. Faculty attend mandatory training, mandatory meetings, support discipline projects, and all other requirements outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. Potential candidates will have the ability to teach online as well as face-to-face and blended/hybrid courses during the evening, at multiple locations (Downtown Centers, Dual Enrollment Partners), and nontraditional times as needed by the Social Sciences Division. In addition, we seek candidates whose pedagogy, research, and continuous professional development have prepared them to engage with the college's commitment to belonging, equity, diversity, and inclusion (BEDI).

Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Communication from an accredited institution of higher education, or a master's degree in a field related to human communication, along with at least eighteen graduate credits in Communication.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications
- Demonstrated commitment to Equity and Completion
- Demonstrated use of multiple teaching formats
- Demonstration of collegiality
- Postsecondary teaching experience
- Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom climate and design curricula that foster greater sense of community
Additional Experiences Considered:
- Community College teaching experience
- Online teaching experience
- Demonstrated experience with teaching course content involving cross-cultural communication, and/or with theater productions involving cross-cultural themes
- Experience working with dual enrollment and/or Early Middle College students
- Experience with theater, theater history, and/or acting courses is beneficial in supporting the discipline's leadership of college theater activities
- Pedagogy is informed by belonging, equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Familiarity with learning management system software
- Demonstrated ongoing professional growth
- Ability to teach across disciplines
- Bilingual
