Departmental Overview
The UC Berkeley Library System is an internationally renowned research and teaching facility at the nation's top public university. In a highly diverse and intellectually rich environment, the Library serves a campus community of undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty. Our workforce is mostly on the central campus. We are currently seeking a Development Analyst who will work within the department's development unit.

Responsibilities
- Implements established components and activities for the Library fundraising program; plans administers and implements the Library's well-defined and established fundraising program requiring the exercise of limited discretion and judgment.
- Monitors the departmental email account for donors, researches information as needed, and drafts responses to inquiries on behalf of the Library Development Office.
- Similarly, responds to phone inquiries on behalf of the Library Development Office.
- Partners with gift officers to ensure that predetermined fundraising goals are met such as coordinating strategy meetings; oversees meeting logistics, agendas, and discussion materials.
- Coordinates gift officer travel as well as reimbursements for the Executive Director of Development.
- Develops briefing materials on strategies and post-visit follow-ups.
- In collaboration with the Donor Relations Manager, provides support in executing donor events and other stewardship programs.
- Works with Gift Officers on specific follow-ups.
- Develops and maintains reports on the Library's fundraising activities and reports, providing information on program trends and analysis of data.
- Maintains accurate donor information in CADS database.
- Assists in the organizing and implementation of the Library Board and its subcommittees.
- Manages meeting agendas and materials.
- Collaborates on various communications with the Board, including status reports on their assignments.
- Prepares reports tracking the impact of the Board sub-committees' activities.
- Prepares materials for specific fundraising activities and/or assists in promotional efforts such as writing, speaking and/or telephoning.
- This includes but is not limited to group communications with Library donors and event participants.
- Drafts proposals in conjunction with gift officers based on prospect and donor interests.
- Collaborates with unit partners to ensure accurate presentation of giving opportunities.
- Drafts informational and other materials for review for assigned programs.
- With some direction, conducts research to identify prospects.
- Develops in-depth knowledge of donors in the team portfolios and makes strategy recommendations when appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of fundraising, donor relations, and public relations concepts, principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Working knowledge of the campus, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies pertaining to fundraising, higher education.
- Good written and interpersonal communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies.
- Good organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Skill in maintaining confidentiality.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Google Suite and Microsoft Suite applications.
- Complete Salesforce Marketing Cloud training and pass competency test.
- Complete CADSbase and CADSmart training.
- Complete expense reimbursement training.
- Understand and be able to complete BearBuy purchase order directions.
Education/Training:
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience supporting fundraising, donor relations, public relations, or campus operations programs.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $33.57 - $34.62.
- This is a 100% full-time (40 hours per week), career position that is eligible for full UC benefits.
- This position is non-exempt and paid bi-weekly.
