The Senior Instructional Technologist assists faculty, staff and students in the appropriate integration of technology into the academic curriculum in order to enhance the learning process. To accomplish this objective, Instructional Technology Consultants provides consulting, training and support services, develop learning resources and investigate and implement new and innovative technology and techniques. 1. Provides instructional technology-related consulting and support services to faculty, staff and students
*Discusses client goals
*Responds to questions relating to instruction and technology
*Promotes innovative approaches for the use of technology
*Suggests pedagogical approaches
*Troubleshoots hardware and software problems and recommends solutions
*Recommends appropriate methodologies for the assessment of student learning and the evaluation of program effectiveness
*Provides technical assistance to faculty/students with online course access and use of tools
*Consults with external clients to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues relating to course delivery
2. Designs, develops, and deploys learning resources for various delivery modes
*Assists in the development of courses using web-based Course Management Systems (CMS)
*Creates learning resources using web development and other specialized software
*Develops multimedia resources
*Provides consulting and support in the use of online synchronous collaboration tools
3. Provides education and training on the appropriate use of technology in support of teaching, learning and research
*Develops and presents workshops and seminars
*Produces documentation
*Designs and develops online tutorials
*Provides individualized training
*Conducts virtual as well as on-site faculty, TA and student orientation
4. Facilitate the advancement and adoption of innovative IT tools and techniques
*Identifies and evaluates new software and hardware
*Analyzes potential instructional advantage as well as cost versus benefits
*Analyzes, designs, configures and tests specialized software to support online and traditional courses
*Works closely with other Library and Technology Services (LTS) staff to develop test environments for the support of multimedia applications and database tools, computer-aided instruction, simulation tools, photography and digital imaging
*Performs systems support tasks- e.g., set up servers, apply operating systems, systems maintenance
*Recommends, implements and promotes the adoption of new technologies
*Disseminates information about new technology advances
*Monitors current trends and advancements in the instructional/educational technology fields
*Participates and supports research projects and grant proposal development
*Develops partnerships with local and national consortia
*Writes and presents papers at professional conferences
*Attends professional conferences
5. Serves as the primary Instructional Designer and Instructional Technology Consultant for the LTS Team supporting assigned college(s)
*Works with support team and clients from assigned college(s) including faculty, students and staff, to promote the advancement of innovative and effective instruction for classroom and online education

This is an approximate range and is subject to change based on experience, skills and qualifications.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Technology, Computer Science, Communications, Engineering, a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's Degree preferred
Three to five years of related work experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong interpersonal, writing, presentation and facilitation skills; experience leading workshops preferred
Excellent organizational skills, time management and attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
Excellent computer skills with experience using word processing and spreadsheet software
Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
