Job Description
Overview
With roots dating back to 1918, Boston University School of Social Work has more than 100 years of social work education history, a dynamic faculty leading innovative research on pressing social justice issues, and graduate and professional students engaged in programs across five campuses and online.
Our mission is to develop dynamic and diverse social work practitioners, leaders, and scholars through rigorous teaching, innovative research, and transformative community engagement.
Responsibilities
As the Assistant Dean for Enrollment Services, you'll provide visionary and strategic leadership for all aspects of the Boston University School of Social Work's (BUSSW) Admissions and Financial Aid department. This position is responsible for implementing recruitment and admissions activities, enrollment management strategies to achieve targeted goals, and financial aid policies and procedures for the BUSSW graduate programs.
You'll bring a comprehensive understanding of graduate and professional student enrollment trends, preferably in social work, and be able to accurately and persuasively represent the School's programs to prospective students and others.
In this role, you'll supervise the Manager of Recruitment, the Manager of Admissions, the Senior Manager of Financial Aid, and you'll oversee the School's Welcome Center, including shared supervision of a staff coordinator. As the team's leader, you'll oversee a customer relationship management system and all application processes, including database management.
We seek a creative thinker who will supervise the School's development and implementation of recruitment campaigns that attract graduate students committed to the profession of social work. You'll oversee plans that achieve program-specific enrollment targets, collaborate with the MarCom team on digital recruitment efforts to maximize the ROI of the enrollment marketing campaigns and develop creative outreach efforts to recruit students in select venues while tracking and analyzing the effectiveness of all initiatives and activities.
You'll continually research and analyze current graduate education markets to understand trends, forecast future directions, and identify competitors and aspirational schools while seeking new market opportunities.
On the admissions front, you'll oversee all activities, including the application compilation and review process, financial award decisions, management of matriculation, and yield tactics.
In consultation with the Dean and the Senior Manager of Financial Aid, you'll develop a financial aid strategy to effectively utilize funds to attract qualified students, emphasizing underrepresented populations, including overseeing the coordination of financial aid awards, policies, procedures, and budget.
In this role, you'll support the Dean in developing, implementing, and evaluating effective strategies to ensure that BUSSW is an inclusive community for an intellectually, culturally, and economically diverse population of students.
