The Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate interested in behavioral and experimental social science. The appointment will begin September 1, 2024, subject to final budget approval.

The ideal candidate is ambitious, well-trained, self-motivated, hard-working, equally capable of working alone and as part of a team, and by the time of appointment, holds a Ph.D. in economics, political science, sociology, or a related field. The position requires expertise in experimental methods, either in the lab, online, or in the field, and ideally, some theoretical skills. Excellent communication skills in English, the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential. The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation.

Successful applicants are expected to publish research in leading peer-reviewed journals in social science, work individually, and also in close collaboration with Prof. Ernesto Reuben on topics related to the behavioral determinants of inequality in labor market outcomes.

You would be part of an active research community, including many other postdoctoral fellows, over 70 faculty in the Division of Social Science, and research groups like the Social Science Experimental Laboratory and the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design and various research clusters.

Appointments will be for two years, renewable for at least an additional year, conditional on a satisfactory evaluation of performance.
