Departmental Overview
The BCSP is a philanthropically funded center aiming to create and share knowledge with the world about psychedelics and their place in society, with three key pillars: basic research on the brain science of these compounds; a comprehensive certificate program for facilitators of the psychedelic experience; and multi-dimensional public education and outreach about these compounds, including their history, current politics, applications to medicine, and the cultural and spiritual aspects of their use.
This position involves designing a contemplative practice curriculum for advanced healthcare professionals. Works with program leadership to determine training needs and develop appropriate training programs and learning approaches.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement psychedelic facilitation curriculum using the tools of contemplative practice and evidence from contemplative science.
- Assist with overall curriculum development and instructional planning for facilitation training
- Support training program curriculum through regular instruction of annual cohort of advanced healthcare professionals
- Revise curriculum and instruction throughout each year, in collaboration with other program team members.
- Collaborate with training team members to identify potential guest speakers, as well as plan and implement the training curriculum with them.
- Provide relevant organizational planning and support to training program
- Design, propose, and implement curricular and instructional strategies for enacting commitments to diversity, equity, inclusion, and centering indigenous perspectives.
- Support the identification of best practices in curriculum and instruction for facilitation training programs, and support the dissemination of knowledge about these practices.
Required Qualifications
- Experience teaching at the post-graduate level or providing ongoing professional development training
- Experience designing curriculum for professionals
- Strong writing and speaking skills
- Demonstrated success engaging in strategic planning
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Salary & Benefits
This is a 1-yr, non-exempt temporary position at 25% (10 hrs a week), with the possibility of extension with continued funding. This position is paid hourly.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $41.00 - $56.00.
