PGIA/IB Job Vacancy Description
We are committed to hiring a diverse faculty who reflect the diversity of our student body. Positivity and team mentality are a must
This position will teach 6th grade English, Individuals & Societies (Social Studies), and support 6th grade students socially and emotionally as they transition to middle school. Our teachers have access to world-class professional development, job-embedded coaching, and a warm and welcoming community
Currently, we are hiring a full-time 6th Grade Homeroom Teacher for our (MYP) program. This position is responsible for roughly 40% of the teaching for our 6th grade class. 6th graders start and end their day in their homeroom. They go to other classes for PE, Arts, Math, Spanish and Science. A successful candidate will have experience helping students transition to middle school. We seek a team player with a pastoral approach to the social, emotional, and character development of young adolescents.
We need talented, energetic teachers who will put teamwork and student learning as their number one priority at our school. IB experience is preferred but we will train the right applicant. A higher education degree in your area of expertise is required and applicants should have 3 or more years of teaching experience. At this time, we are only able to hire those persons who hold US citizenship. Only serious inquiries with a true desire to work hard on a dynamic and caring team need apply. You can learn more about our school at www.vimsia.org. Please contact PGIA Director, Michael Fisher, at mfisher@vimsia.org with any questions.
