Position Information
The Advancement Coordinator is responsible for implementing specific plans for development and alumni relations efforts at the School of Education (SOE), such as stewardship efforts, annual giving, and signature events. Additionally, this position will provide administrative support to the SOE development office. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of racial literacy given that UCR is an HSI, MSI, AANAPISI institution located on Indigenous lands in what we now call the Inland Empire. Requires working occasional weekends and evenings. The University of California, Riverside's School of Education is a nationally recognized school in a public research university that leverages its broad range of expertise to develop impactful partnerships, collaborations, and evidence-based resources fundamental for teaching, learning, and student success. Located in a region rich in racial and linguistic diversity, yet challenged by economic and social inequities, SOE serves a diverse student population, much of which is comprised of students of color, low-income students, and first-generation college students. The mission of SOE is to advance equitable educational systems and practices that are driven by core values of equity, evidence, excellence, community, critical thinking, and compassion. Additionally, we prioritize recognizing, honoring, and working with the people of the region to create transformative opportunities and advance our respective fields in education.
This position is eligible for hybrid work. Work samples will be requested of all shortlisted candidates. The full salary range for the Advancement Coordinator is $25.96 - $44.64 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $33.52 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Knowledge of basic concepts and principles of building and maintaining effective relations with a variety of alumni and other key constituencies.
For staff in Government/Community Relations: basic knowledge of public policy and the legislative process.
Skills in maintaining confidentiality.
Additional Information
Basic knowledge of the institution, its mission, vision, goals, achievements, policies, and infrastructure.
Personal and/or professional experience and record of commitment to serving racially diverse communities. Desire to work alongside faculty, students, staff, administrators with a commitment to an equity-oriented mission as a land-grant university on Tribal lands designated as a Hispanic Serving, Minority Serving, and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution.
