Position Summary
The MSU School of Social Work is dedicated to educating students for ethical, competent, responsive, and innovative social work practice, and to conducting and disseminating high quality research that improves the well-being of the most vulnerable in society. Our teaching, research, and outreach synergistically promote social justice, positive change, and solutions to the problems facing diverse individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. More than 650 students are enrolled in our CSWE-accredited BASW and MSW programs, and PhD program.
The Kinship Care Resource Center (KCRC) is one of several community programs in the School of Social Work at Michigan State University. The KCRC serves kinship care families across the state by providing information, referrals, and support for caregivers and the children they are raising.
The KCRC is engaged in the development and study of an intervention model designed to improve caregiver well-being and satisfaction through the provision of an array of services from kinship navigation, legal advocacy, benefits assistance, to case management. The KCRC Intervention Program Manager will be dedicated to supporting development and implementation of this intervention model, in partnership with community organizations and within identified service delivery areas. This is an off dated position funded to September 30, 2024, with possible extension contingent upon funding renewal.
The primary functions of this role include:
- Meets regularly with regional provider teams to consult on cases and support implementation of the intervention protocol.
- Provide ongoing feedback about program tools, fidelity measures, and data collection with the implementation team, evaluation team and KCRC staff.
- Partners with service delivery sites to set goals, communicate metrics, gather feedback on common challenges, interpret program data. And monitor progress.
- Facilitates communication and maintains relationships within referral agencies and kinship families to ensure effective service delivery.
- Coaches and supports intervention providers to evaluate and discern how each case with its individualized plan is family focused, culturally responsive and outcomes driven.
- Responds to inquiries from prospective program participants and provides referrals and direct services as needed.
- Co-designs and executes CQI plan for assigned intervention service delivery sites and drives CQI activities.
- Identifies and implements activities designed to meet continued learning needs for intervention providers and partnering supervisors through learning communities.
- Communicates regularly with the partner organizations Site Coordinators.
- Partners with Kinship team providers to identify trends across cases and share common barriers and facilitators that kinship families are experiencing.

Required Degree
Masters -Social Work or related field
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field with a minimum of 2 years post graduate work experience by the date of employment; in possession of or eligible for professional licensure in respective field in the State of Michigan.
- Experience monitoring for continuous quality improvement (CQI), engaged in direct services to families, and supervising staff in a professional setting.
- Evidence of experience working with culturally diverse individuals and commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) with experience in public speaking.
- Ability to provide high-quality customer service, handle multiple priorities simultaneously with confidence and poise in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize activities to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
- Evidence of the ability to work collaboratively and constructively with people at multiple levels and with diverse perspectives and to build consensus across various divisions of complex systems.
- Experience supervising, training and coaching staff to support skill development and performance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Share Point, Teams, and Outlook, and proficiency or ability to become proficient in calendaring and Customer Relations Management Systems (Salesforce)
- Central Registry Clearance documenting that there is no record of child abuse or neglect.
- Internal Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT) check and a National and State Sex Offender Registry Check.
- Access to transportation as the position requires statewide travel as needed.

Special Instructions
Work hours standard work hours with occasional weekends and evenings.
Occasional travel throughout the state of Michigan. This position is located in East Lansing allowing flexibility for some remote work.
