Upper School Humanities Teacher
The Covenant School is seeking a dedicated and well-read individual to teach an eleventh-grade course focused on the History of Western Thought. This required course traces the development of Western thought through the Classical, the Medieval, and the Modern periods. Students read selections from a number of seminal works from the ancient Greeks to the present and critically examine a host of perennial questions about the purpose of human existence, the nature of knowledge, the basis for morality, and the definition of the "good life." The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in and commitment to Christian education and the Liberal Arts tradition and will have the ability to inspire students' love of learning and critical thinking.
