NYU Tel Aviv is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach a course on Israeli Cinema, under the sponsorship of the Tisch School of the Arts and the Dramatic Literature department at New York University. The course would be taught in the Fall 2022 semester (September 1 - December 14, 2022). For further course content information, please review the sample syllabus.
Course Description
In this course, will teach a course on the art of filmmaking. He will use his work to discuss the history and culture of Israel. The course will enrich the students? understanding of cinema as a microcosm of the young, vibrant, and continually changing Israeli state and society. Students will analyse the cinematic expression of the themes behind the inception and evolution of the small yet multifaceted country, and note the differences between the cinema of various generations of Israeli filmmakers. In addition, students will be exposed to the local film ecosystem.

Qualified candidates should hold a PhD in cinema studies, cultural studies, literature, art history or related field and have a strong record of research as well as experience teaching. Candidates who have experience in teaching within an American university system to a diverse English speaking undergraduate student body are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to those who have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience teaching at the university level in English. Applicants are required to have a legal right to work in Israel.
