Position Information: Join our Team! The Bourns College of Engineering Center for Environmental Research and Technology (CE-CERT) invites applications for a highly skilled and ambitious Emissions and Fuels Research Laboratory Manager to lead our Emissions and Fuels Research (EFR) group. CE-CERT's EFR group stands at the forefront of emissions research, focusing on diverse combustion sources, including vehicles, trucks, generators, marine vessels, locomotives, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, and cooking appliances.
Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Emissions and Fuels Research Laboratory Manager to lead our Emissions and Fuels Research (EFR) group. In this role, you will oversee research staff and laboratory operations, ensuring that research objectives are met with the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will play a pivotal role in supervising and mentoring team members, managing daily lab operations, and driving the strategic planning and execution of advanced research projects. Additionally, you will provide technical oversight of lab equipment, coordinate logistics for research activities, and contribute innovative ideas to enhance research development.
The full salary range for the Emissions and Fuels Research Laboratory Manager is $90,400 - $169,000 annually. However, the pay scale for this position is up to $129,700 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a complex, challenging environment. Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility, anticipates and effectively handles change.
Ability to organize division operations in an efficient and effective manner through improving processes, procedures, and systems.
Advanced knowledge of research discipline or instructional design to collaborate effectively with faculty and function as a resource to research and instructional associates.
Proven analytical abilities and problem solving skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify options for resolution. Demonstrates sound judgement.
Advanced interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty and staff.
Solid knowledge of data acquisition and analysis techniques.
Strong abilities to conduct and report on scientific experiments and findings.
Advanced knowledge of necessary lab safety procedures and requirements, as well as chemical or biological disposal guidelines.
