Position Information: Join the dynamic Financial Services Team at the Bourns College of Engineering! Under the supervision of the Financial Services Supervisor, the Administrative Assistant will manage key administrative tasks for the departments of Chemical and Environmental Engineering (CEE), Bioengineering (BIEN), and provide backup support for the BECCEMM cluster as needed. This role includes event coordination, procurement, travel arrangements, general support, and more. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth daily operations, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain a strong front-desk presence.
The full salary range for the Administrative Assistant is $24.59 - $34.85 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to procurement practices, equipment management, general accounting practices, account reconciliation, travel and entertainment reimbursement, and Internal Audit policies and procedures
Management skills to plan, coordinate, and direct numerous complex activities with competing deadlines and interruptions in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with the ability to work quickly, accurately, and maintain records with strict attention to detail. Ability to set priorities and use initiative organizing and handling a heavy workload.
Knowledge of University of California policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of UCR's on-line applications and service requests systems

Provide security for incoming equipment and materials, ensure proper storage of research materials until end user takes possession of property and assist with identification of Inventorial Equipment. Responsible for submitting campus service request via the designated applications, including but not limited to facilities, Information Technology Solutions, printing, media, catering and outsourcing to contracted vendors for additional departmental needs.

Assist in the coordination of departmental moves, update electronic filing systems and dispose of materials. Assist cluster Financial & Administrative Officers as requested and ensure follow up with all services. Petty cash custodian in accordance with policy 200-72.
