Job Description Summary
The Global Studies Department at Bentley University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position with expertise in International Political Economy (IPE) to begin July 1, 2025. Based on qualifications, there is the possibility of an appointment at the associate level. The position is open with respect to the substantive area of expertise within IPE. While specific geographic expertise is not required, we welcome applications from candidates who also have expertise on South Asia, the Middle East or Africa.
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in developing a new major in international business and contribute to existing majors in international affairs and public policy. We seek candidates who can amplify our departmentâ™s commitment to anti-racism. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of a continuing research agenda focused on publication and a strong dedication to excellence in teaching. We especially welcome candidates who bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the classroom and prefer candidates with classroom teaching experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD required. Requirements for the doctoral degree must be completed prior to the start of the Fall 2025 semester.

A letter of interest that summarizes the candidateâ™s overall strengths.
A teaching statement of not more than two pages, which should include a description of how the faculty member has demonstrated or intends to create and support an inclusive classroom environment.
A research statement of not more than two pages detailing the candidateâ™s research strengths and plans for future research.
One research writing sample.
The names and contact information for three professional references. Bentley will contact these confidential references for those candidates moving forward in the process.
