Tenure-track assistant professor in U.S. Military History
The Department of History at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill is hiring a tenure-track assistant professor in U.S. Military History.  Specialization is open, but candidates working in topics after about 1900 will be preferred.  Ideal candidates will be able to teach both halves of a U.S. military history undergraduate survey, and also to teach courses in their specialty.  Cultural, operational, and social approaches are all welcome.  UNC Chapel Hill has long been a premier program for training graduate students in military history, and it is also the home of an undergraduate Curriculum in Peace, War, and Defense, which has a heavy military history component.  The Department also cooperates extensively with the Triangle Institute for Security Studies (TISS).
