The History Department at Radford University seeks a tenure-track assistant/associate professor in United States history to begin August 2025. Training and/or experience in Public History required. Preference given to candidates with ability to teach Appalachian history. Applicants must have a demonstrated commitment to high-quality teaching, scholarship, and student engagement. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand by August 2025.
The successful candidate will offer upper-division courses in Public History, other United States history courses, and ideally Appalachian history. In addition, the position requires teaching introductory surveys in United States history. The position also provides the opportunity to collaborate with students and other faculty in the Department’s Center for Archives and Digital History. The successful candidate will have an active scholarly agenda and engage in university service.
