The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is the largest community college district in the United States and one of the largest in the world. POSITION
The LACCD is accepting applications for Adjunct Medical Assisting Instructor positions at our nine colleges for the Academic School Year 2025. The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants. When there is an opening the hiring location will begin their review process with the applicants in the pool.
The LACCD is seeking dynamic, motivated and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate our students. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or higher in any field ANDTwo (2) years of full-time related professional experience ORAssociate degree in any field ANDSix (6) years of full-time related professional experience.
Note: The professional experience required must be directly related to the teaching assignment.
A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
VERIFICATION OF OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE: DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Successful applicants will be able to provide a Verification of Employment letter from a current or previous employer that substantiates knowledge, skills and abilities. Verification of Experience Letters must be on company letterhead stationery indicating:

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience teaching at a community college or other higher education institution.
Experience with high school dual enrollment programs and distance learning/online teaching; Canvas certification preferred.
For Medical Assisting program: Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse, or Certified Medical Assistant.
DUTIES
The adjunct instructor should be prepared to teach a range of courses within the Allied Health Non Credit -Medical Assisting discipline, promoting engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning. Teach in-person classes, participate in division and discipline meetings, complete required rosters, and fulfill other faculty obligations. The successful candidate will be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities and educational experiences.
REMOTE LEARNING
Faculty may be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using CANVAS or other methods of remote learning. Applicants with demonstrated certification in CANVAS may be given preference.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT: COVID-19 VACCINATION
Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated and complete the baseline testing or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustee's policy. Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to the position start date.
COMPENSATION
The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $79.20 per standard hour. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
