The School of Management at the University of Los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) seeks applications to fill one full-time position at the assistant or associate professor level at the Management and Public Policy Unit. The Unit houses scholars interested in management theory (organization theory and organizational/management economics); innovation and technology; business and economic history; family business; cultural industries; and business ethics. Within these themes, scholars focus on individuals and teams within organizations, the relationship between organizations and types of organizations, and the role of public policy in the performance of organizations. Preference will be given to faculty with a strong commitment to research, demonstrated by a record of publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals or high-potential working papers pipeline, and who will engage in the design, delivery, and assessment of courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. This call will prioritize high quality candidates who will strengthen our existing fields but will also consider applications from high quality candidates in other relevant fields.
We are interested in candidates with:
A Ph.D. - completed or near completion in the field of business, management, economics, history or other relevant fields.
A desire and aptitude to contribute to a successful and fast-growing educational establishment.
Potential for research and publication in international peer-reviewed journals.
An ability to contribute to different undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

About the Management and Public Policy Unit
The faculty at the Management and Public Policy Unit are 8 women and men, with disciplinary backgrounds coming from development studies, economics, history, political science and sociology. They are American, Argentinian, Italian, Peruvian and Colombian.
Unit scholars have published in academic journals such as Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, Research Policy, Review of Economic Studies, Business History, Business History Review, Journal of Economic History, Journal of Labor Economics, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, as well as in books or book chapters published by Oxford University Press, Brill, Edward Elgar, Palgrave and Harvard Business School pedagogical case studies. They have also held co-editor positions at Business History journal and are part of various leading international journal editorial committees.
Faculty have held postdoctoral, visiting fellowships or associate researchers at Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northwestern University and Oxford University and have been granted prizes including the Coleman prize for the Best PhD Dissertation in Business History in the United Kingdom, the Jaume Vicens Vives prize for best economic history book in Spain and Latin America, the Scientific Merit awarded by Argentina’s Senate and the Life-Time Achievement award of the Business History Conference. The scholars participate in research networks like the Family Business Research Network and have been funded by the BEIS-UK PACT, Inter-American Development Bank, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in addition to the Colombian and Argentinian ministries of science and technology.
