Position Summary
Under the direction of the Positive Behavior Support Supervisor and the Director of Psychological Services, the Inclusion Assistant will assist in the monitoring of behavior support services. The Assistant will assist faculty in supporting special needs students in multiple classrooms, on the schoolyard, and on field trips. The Assistant will help facilitate social interaction with students by developing activities that encourage social play and effective communication strategies.

Graduation from college or a combination of education, training, and/or experience which demonstrate the ability to perform the required duties (Preferred)
1. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally to convey information and direction to students. (Required)
2. Ability to work and speak to people of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds to welcome and establish good working relationships with staff, parents and students. (Required)
3. Ability to learn and utilize teaching aids. (Required)
4. Ability to follow protocols and procedures as specified. (Preferred)
5. Experience working with children in a pre-K-6 educational environment (Required)
6. Ability to set up and organize classroom materials for children within a set schedule. (Preferred)
7. Ability to respond to sensitive incidents (visible illness, behavior/emotional problems, lack of bladder control, minor injuries, etc.) that may occur with school-age children and use sound judgment to safeguard the child's confidence and dignity. (Required)
8. Knowledge of the school organization and its community, including parents. (Preferred)
9. Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community. (Required)
10. Skill in using PC or Macintosh computers efficiently including working knowledge of the most current version of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and mainstream internet sites such as Yahoo, Google, Blogger, etc. (Required)
11. Ability to administer CPR and First Aid as needed. (Required)

High School Diploma (Required) And
Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Special Conditions for Employment
Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
TB Test: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory TB test.
