Visiting Assistant Professor of History
The History Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a one-year position with the possibility of a one-year renewal at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor of History to begin July 1, 2025. We are looking for a scholar of African American history (period and specialization open), including candidates whose research focuses on diasporic African communities in the US or North America, or the Caribbean, or related histories of colonialism, inequality, race/racism, and civil rights. The new hire will be expected to teach five courses annually, lower- and upper-level history courses in his or her area of specialization, and to provide a survey of African American history.
