The Department of History and Political Science at Mississippi College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position to direct the Social Studies Education program and teach History courses, beginning in the Fall 2025 semester. The Social Studies Education program director will teach Social Studies Methods, Geography, and History courses.  The successful candidate will also supervise student teachers in cooperation with K-12 teachers in schools across the Jackson metro area.  The program director will train students in pedagogy, work with colleagues in the Department of Teacher Education & Leadership, write reports for state and national accreditation, and collaborate with regional organizations.  Other faculty responsibilities include a normal teaching loa
