Oak Hill Academy seeks a dynamic and creative Social Media/ Digital Media Teacher to join our team. This role combines educational instruction with digital media production and school event documentation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, skilled in digital content creation, and experienced in live-streaming technologies. This position offers a unique opportunity to build on the storied history of Oak Hill Academy, including its renowned basketball program, which has won 9 high school national championships and produced over 40 NBA players.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach courses in digital media, yearbook production, social media management, and streaming technologies.
Produce live streams for school events, including sporting events, performances, and other significant activities.
Develop and implement a curriculum that integrates social media, streaming, and digital communication skills.
Mentor students in digital content creation and online presentation techniques.
Create engaging multimedia content for school communication platforms.
Manage the school’s social media accounts and streaming platforms to enhance outreach and engagement.
Provide technical support for school-wide digital communication initiatives.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to document and promote school events effectively.

Required Qualifications:
Proven experience with live streaming technologies and software.
Strong technical skills in video production and social media management.
Excellent teaching, communication, and mentoring abilities.
Proficiency with streaming platforms, equipment, and editing tools.
In-depth understanding of digital media trends and best practices.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to cover school events.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Communications, Education, or a related field.
Experience in curriculum development for media-related subjects.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, OBS, or other video production tools.
Oak Hill Academy is a boarding school located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia and enrolls girls and boys in grades 8-12.
