Description: The Department of Sociology at Princeton University invites applications for postdoctoral research associates to work with Professor Zeynep Tufekci in the field of social movements, especially as how it relates to changes in the public sphere with technological developments. The position will be awarded to an emerging scholar who will devote their residency at Princeton to assisting with research and to their own work. Eligible candidate must have less than five years of post-PhD research experience prior to anticipated start date. This is a one-year term position ideally starting September 1, 2024 with the possibility of renewal for one additional year based on continued funding and satisfactory performance. The postdoctoral scholar will also participate with department faculty members and affiliated graduate students in department events and will be expected to work in the department at least four days per week. In addition, they will be invited to participate in other programs, including seminars, colloquia, and public lectures and will enjoy access to Firestone Library and to a wide range of activities throughout the University. Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of the significance of their proposed research in the field of social movements; the quality of their previous research and their ability to benefit from the activities of the department; the contribution they are likely to make to higher education in the future through teaching and writing about social movements.
