Description The International Relations Department at Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Comparative Politics, beginning August 1, 2025. This is a full-time, one-year position with a teaching load of five courses per year. Area and period of expertise is open, with a preference for European and/or East Asian politics.
The salary range for this position is $49,300 - $56,666.67.
Qualifications The successful candidate will be able to teach Introduction to Comparative Politics and contribute one section of an interdisciplinary Introduction to Global Studies course, in addition to courses in more specific areas of their research expertise (preferably something that can be cross-listed with relevant area studies departments or programs through the Institute for Global Studies). Candidates for this position should have a Ph.D. or ABD in Political Science or a related discipline by summer 2025, possess a strong research agenda, and a record of or potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching.
