Position Information: The Multimedia Technician supports the installation, operation, and maintenance of digital presentation technologies and network-based multimedia equipment to enhance instruction and special events specifically for the School of Medicine. This role provides direct technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students, ensuring the effective use of multimedia resources, including webcasting, video encoding, automated lecture capture and publishing, audio podcasting, videoconferencing, and web conferencing. The incumbent is also responsible for supporting the technology infrastructure in specialized learning environments such as the Anatomy Lab and the Simulation and Clinical Skills Center. In collaboration with the Manager of Multimedia & Classroom Technologies, the incumbent will assist in managing and coordinating student assistants to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and support.
This position is classified as on-site.
The full salary range for the is $30.80 - $54.74 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $39.75 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, UCR is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Thorough understanding of media production methods and equipment and ability to use this information to troubleshoot the most complex systems.
Knowledge of intellectual property (IP) restrictions and skill to ensure that media meets IP requirements.
Ability to assess campus or institutional needs for AV IT technology products and design services to meet those needs.
Thorough understanding of post-production processes including internet-based media distribution solutions.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Knowledge of computer, media, and networking technology.
Skills to determine priorities based on knowledge of work area. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem solving skills.
