Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Upper School Spanish Teacher to join our dynamic team for the 2025–2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will bring a deep enthusiasm for language acquisition, a strong commitment to student-centered instruction, and a genuine appreciation for cultures from the Spanish-speaking world.
The successful candidate will create a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that supports a wide range of learners and inspires students to engage meaningfully with the Spanish language. Through innovative teaching and authentic cultural exploration, the teacher will help students build both linguistic proficiency and cultural understanding.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues to foster critical thinking, creativity, and global awareness, nurturing a lifelong love of language learning in your students.
In addition to four sections of classroom teaching, responsibilities include:
Coaching or leading another co-curricular, or teaching a fifth section
Serving as a student advisor
Proctoring study hall
Chaperoning class trips
Facilitating a winterim-week experiential program
What You’ll Need to Get the Job Done
Near-native Spanish and English proficiency are required
A bachelor’s degree in Spanish or language-related field is required; a graduate degree is preferred
3+ years teaching experience preferred
Demonstrated classroom management skills
An attitude that exemplifies teamwork and personal responsibility
The ability to make effective and appropriate use of technology in instruction
A dedication to maintaining strict confidentiality in all matters
