Assistant Professor of Latin American History
MIDDLEBURY, VT -- The History Department invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Latin American History, beginning in the fall of 2026. Research field may include focus or subfields in political, social, or economic history broadly defined. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to teach about both Spanish Latin America as well as Portuguese Latin America. This candidate will teach survey courses in both colonial and modern periods, as well as seminar courses in areas of expertise, and a history methods course. The candidate will also supervise independent senior thesis projects. Candidates are expected to have received their PhD by August 31, 2026, and should provide evidence of commitment to excellent teaching and scholarly potential.
