Assistant Professor of Early American History
Position Summary: The Department of History in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Early American History (before 1850) to start in August 2026. This is a standard nine-month faculty appointment. Applicants should have an active research agenda with strong prospects for publication. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in American history by the time of appointment. The position carries a 2/2 teaching load. The successful candidate will be expected to teach “Early Republic, 1789-1828,” “Antebellum America,” and the first half of the American history sequence, “History of the American People to 1877,” as well as offer instruction in areas of specializatio
