Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months salary unless otherwise specified.

The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in Syracuse University is seeking an individual to teach COM-NY 509.50 Communications Law for Public Communicators located at our NYC Campus on Wednesdays 6:00pm-9:00PM Spring 2026 Semester (3 credits). This position will start January 12, 2026. Final grades are due May 11, 2026.

Course Description: The course covers the First Amendment; systems of media regulation; corporate speech and election-related speech; commercial speech (advertising regulation); defamation; privacy; access to places, documents and meetings; reporter/source confidentiality; and intellectual property.

This position is located at the Fisher Center, Syracuse University's consolidated academic campus at 136 Madison Avenue, NY, NY. The expected salary range for this position is $1,700 per credit hour.
