GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Kirkwood Community College's Social Science department seeks a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our faculty team to teach face-to-face at our Regional Center campus locations for the Spring 2026 semester. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge base in their discipline and teaching experience at the college level is desirable. Primary duties will include teaching assigned classes and communicating with students, Department staff, and other faculty.

$1,304 per credit hour of instruction.

Teaching Opportunity for Spring 2026 Semester:

Washington County Regional Center (Washington, IA) - Principles of Macroeconomics, meeting January 13 - April 30, 2026. Tuesday/Thursday - 9:30 am - 11 am

Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions scheduled intermittently based on institutional need. Adjuncts are not guaranteed work in any semester and are notified of course assignments prior to each term as courses become available.

• Master's Degree in Economics or a graduate degree with a minimum of 12 graduate hours in Economics. MBA without 12 credit hours of economics do not meet qualifications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

• Experience teaching at the college level.
• Demonstrated commitment to the mission of a comprehensive community college.
• Demonstrated success in working collaboratively.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
