Job Description:The International Student Success Coordinator is responsible for providing supportive services to students, particularly international students, in an inclusive and welcoming environment. This position is responsible for serving as a Designated School Official (DSO) to federal programs by assisting F-1 visa holding international students achieve their objectives within the guidelines of immigration regulations, overseeing various social and cultural programs throughout the year, and collaborating with other departments across campus to raise awareness of international issues.Salary Range:This is a Minnesota State University Association of Administrative and Service Faculty (MSUAASF) Range C position with a salary range of $47,607 (minimum) to $93,342 (maximum).Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is determined by the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (Minnesota State) and the MSUAASF organization.* Employment for this position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement for the MSUAASF which can be found: https://www.msuaasf.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Final-2023-2025-MSUAASF-Contract.pdfMinimum Qualifications:Three years of professional experience working with international student advising, retention, and/or student services, and/or an equivalent combination of post-secondary training, education, and professional experience.Experience working with international students, community members, partners, and organizations.Demonstrated knowledge of federal F-1 immigration regulations for non-immigrant students, including SEVIS database and functions.Experience developing, implementing, and facilitating educational and cultural awareness programs for large and small audiences, especially for students.Knowledge of community and government resources for international students.Experience working collaboratively and partnering with internal and external stakeholders to provide resources and services.Position requires proof of U.S. citizenship/legal permanent residence to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO), per Department of Homeland Security.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor?s Degree.Strong oral and written communication skills and experience communicating with diverse audiences in order to maintain positive relationships with various constituents.Experience living, working, or studying abroad.Experience solving complex problems in cross-cultural contexts.Experience in higher education student advising and programming.Knowledge of Minnesota regulations pertaining to international students and scholars.Skills with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel Access, and Outlook.Working Conditions:The coordinator will primarily work on St. Paul ? Dayton?s Bluff Campus of Metro State University. Work is conducted in an office setting and throughout the university. Work may also occur at other university locations. There will be periods of sedentary work as well as periods of interactive work.Physical Effort:Light: Requires occasionally transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and/or transporting light objects frequently.
