BOLLI, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Brandeis, is a vibrant year-round community of intellectually curious adults who enjoy exploring a wide ranging curriculum, including art, current events, drama, economics, film, history and government, language, literature, music, science, and social issues.
The Spring 2026 BOLLI Instructor position is a part-time, five- or ten-week appointment that provides the instructor an opportunity to innovate in the growing field of online and/or face-to-face teaching. Instructors benefit from consultation with the BOLLI Director and coaching and/or advice from current and former fellows who have excelled in the BOLLI teaching enterprise.Â
The hiring range for this position is $1,000. to $3,000. per course.
Duties include:
Develop course syllabi, materials and and weekly course delivery plan.
Use both lecture and interactive teaching delivery for a face-to-face or Zoom weekly 85 minute course (5 or 10 weeks).
Regularly communicate with BOLLI staff and assigned volunteers; and keep the staff appraised on course progress.
Participate in peer feedback and in-service development processes.
Desired Qualifications:
Teaching experience, especially online teaching (as applicable).
Technically competent with platforms such as Zoom, Google Docs, and email.
Advanced degree or currently enrolled in a doctoral graduate program.
