Job Summary:St. George’s seeks an experienced teacher to teach various levels in a rigorous curriculum beginning in the 2026–27 academic year. Particular consideration will be given to candidates with background in world history or literature, as well as interdisciplinary teaching experience, background, and/or interest. The St. George’s Humanities Department encompasses the disciplines of history, English and religion and actively promotes interdisciplinary work.
Essential duties:Teach four sections of Humanities, with two to three preps per semester. Beyond the classroom, candidates must be willing to engage in all aspects of boarding school life, including the school’s afternoon and residential life programs.

Qualifications:The ideal candidate will have experience teaching the reading and analysis of texts from a broad range of genres and voices; strong writing skills and enthusiasm for teaching writing; excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, a strong work ethic, a sense of humor, and familiarity with the needs, objectives, and mission of an independent college preparatory school. Candidates must possess the skills and expertise to help advance the school’s equity and inclusion strategic plan as well as commitment to professional and personal growth. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
