Position Summary:
The Department of Applied Psychology at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) and the Center of Alcohol & Substance Use Studies (CAS) at Rutgers University, New Brunswick are seeking an outstanding candidate for a tenure track, assistant/associate professor position specializing in research in the field of psychology (social/clinical/counseling) and addictions. The successful candidate should have demonstrated teaching excellence, a strong record of scholarly research in addiction, and excellent potential to develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program.
The new faculty member will be expected to teach graduate level courses in psychology and contribute to student training at the masters and doctoral levels. This faculty member will also be responsible for developing and expanding the alcohol and drug use curriculum for the Master of Applied Psychology (MAP) Program's addiction track and provide support to the Director of the MAP program.
Candidates will be expected to develop and maintain an active, extramurally funded research program and work effectively with a team of highly dedicated faculty members in GSAPP's Center of Alcohol & Substance Use Studies and the broader Rutgers University biomedical community. Candidates will be responsible for collaborating on the development and implementation of CAS addiction research training projects. The Center of Alcohol & Substance Use Studies (CAS) is a multidisciplinary research and training institute located on the Busch Campus of Rutgers University, which performs clinical and biomedical research on alcohol and substance use disorders. The CAS serves as a home to researchers and practitioners across Rutgers University schools and programs, as well as an illustrious group of affiliated scientists outside of the university.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Have a doctorate in psychology (clinical/social/counseling), A strong record of scholarship.· An active program of research and publications in alcohol and/or drug studies
Teaching at an undergraduate and graduate level as well as professional experience
Teaching at an undergraduate and graduate level as well as professional experience
Excellent organizational skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Secure and implement funding for research and programs focused on addiction science and /or recovery.
Work with the MAP Director to establish program teaching assignments relative to the substance abuse curriculum.
Serve as faculty advisor to students, coordinate and evaluate academic advising of students.
Review, approve, and file course syllabi for the substance use disorder curriculum of the Program
Participate in research and writing requested and necessary self-study or program-related reports.
Lead for CAS to coordinate substance use shared GSAPP educational and research for projects.
Coordinate CAS addiction research training projects
