Lecturer, Sociology, Fall 2023
The Department of Sociology at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville will be hiring at least two Lecturers, and invites applications, beginning August 1, 2023. This is a one-year position, renewable indefinitely, contingent on performance and funding. We seek a scholar who can teach introductory level courses in Sociology as well as upper division inequality, race, gender, environmental sociology, criminology or political economy courses from a critical perspective. Applicants will be expected to teach four undergraduate courses each in Fall and Spring semesters. Salary is $45,000 for two semesters, paid over twelve months, plus benefits, the opportunity to teach additional classes for pay, and with the opportunity for promotion.
