Position Information:The Teacher Education Program prepares aspiring teachers to serve schools through social justice oriented, community engaged frameworks. While studying cutting-edge theory and research-informed curricula, teacher candidates at the School of Education are cultivated as critical thinkers and reflective, creative professionals who address the needs of all students in culturally responsive ways. In support of this mission and under the direction of the Assistant Dean and Director of Teacher Education, the Assistant Director of Teacher Education, Certification and Accreditation performs the following responsibilities which have equal priority: serves as the compliance officer by providing support services and training on California State Standards, Educator Certification and Accreditation to faculty, Supervisors of Teacher Education, staff, and students. Participates in the analysis of program design and structure and assists the Director in the development of new credential program offerings and ensures all programs align with current state legislation and commission regulations. Responsible for overall planning, organization, and direction of all aspects of the certification and accreditation unit including conceptualizing, development, and implementation of innovative programs and services to meet the needs of students, districts, and the community. Establish short-term and long-term goals and a strategic plan that coordinates with the mission, goals, and objectives of the School of Education's Teacher Education programs and accreditation. Will also be the TEP representative and oversee the Bilingual Authorization Program, Ethnic Studies Pathway, Placements, and assist with scholarships. Other duties as needed.

The full salary range for the Assistant Director of Teacher Education, Certification and Accreditation is $71,100 - $128,700 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $114,300 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
As a university employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
Requirements: Educational RequirementsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Advanced knowledge of learning theories, learning styles and linguistic issues. Strong writing and editing skills, including experience developing policy/procedures, reports and presentations. Advanced knowledge of academic educational programs and curriculum development. Experience designing and implementing learning models. Solid interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and problem solving with all levels of academia and staff. Detail oriented with the ability to apply critical thinking skills to analyze problems and apply effective solutions. Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise staff. Working knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document human resources issues and performance. Ability to interact and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, professional staff, campus personnel, districts, and related entities maintaining positive collaborative working relationships. Ability to work with PC using current software applications such as Outlook, TEAMS, Virtual platforms, Excel, Word, Google docs, PowerPoint, Qualtrics, Banner, SLATE, and CTC online recommendation application systems. Ability to work well and be respectful of diverse populations of staff, students, and faculty.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Commission on Teacher Credentialing standards, guidelines, accreditation requirements. Must demonstrate excellent analytical skills regarding state requirement changes. Must be able to review, synthesize, and articulate updates while providing proposed solutions that align with state mandates and enhancement to current program offerings. Ability to interpret and apply University Policy and Commission on Teacher Credentialing standards. Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, adaptability, and ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to unique situations. Extensive knowledge of State Credentialing requirements. Program Sponsor experience as a Credential Analyst in California. Experience in teaching or working in Ethnic Studies.
