Position Summary Seeking an open-rank faculty member to serve as the Masters Entry into the Profession of Nursing (MEPN) Program Coordinator. The MEPN Program Coordinator is a faculty member appointed at the discretion of the Dean to provide leadership and oversight to the MEPN Program.
Detailed Position Information Administrative: • Work with the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs to develop and maintain a current, comprehensive, and responsive curriculum that complies with the most recent national standards and competencies (e.g., AACN Essentials). • Ensure MEPN courses are developed and delivered in adherence to college and university policies. • Review prospective student applications and make recommendations on selection of applicants. • Participate in recruiting, orienting, and mentoring full-time and part-time MEPN faculty and staff. • Collaborate with the MEPN Clinical Coordinator, MEPN faculty, and MEPN staff to ensure optimal student experiences. • Plan and participate in student orientation and simulation activities. • Work with the ADGP and the Senior Associate Dean's office to evaluate program outcomes. • Work with faculty and students to resolve any concerns or issues. • Available to oversee the program during 12 months of the year. • Other duties as assigned.
Teaching: • Participate in teaching within the MEPN program • Serve as a Course Leader for didactic MEPN courses
Research/Scholarships: • Participate in research/scholarly activities in accordance with role/rank expectations and workload guidelines.
Service: • Serve as a resource person for faculty and students in the NP track and participate in service activities in accordance with annual contract.
Minimum Qualifications 1. Doctoral degree in Nursing 2. Experience with prelicensure student supervision. 3. Current or eligible for multi-state licensure as a registered nurse in Alabama 4. Successful teaching experience
