The Department of Management invites applicants for one tenure-track Assistant Professor Position beginning Fall 2023. The primary teaching responsibilities for the position are in Human Resource Management with secondary teaching responsibilities in Organization Behavior and other areas in the field of Management. Candidates must possess a current doctorate in Management with a concentration in HRM or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited business school. ABDs will be considered but the candidate must complete the degree before Fall 2023. Candidates with an MBA in addition to the doctorate will receive preference. Additional competencies required for this position include demonstrated potential for or effectiveness in college teaching and potential for or effectiveness in conducting scholarly research and publishing, consistent with AACSB standards. The job also requires service at different levels within the university and the profession. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the undergraduate and graduate HRM related areas such as Strategic HRM, HRD (Training), HR Technology, Compensation/Benefits, Staffing, Labor Relations, etc. Secondary areas of teaching may include OB and other areas of management. Candidates must have the interest and capability to contribute to our highly regarded applied Masters in Human Resources and Organizational Development (MSHROD) program. The College of Business at Eastern Michigan University offers AACSB accredited graduate and undergraduate programs in business. The teaching load is typically nine credit hours per semester with courses typically capped at 25-30.
