The Department of Psychology at Ohio Wesleyan University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Social Psychology, starting in August, 2025. We are seeking candidates committed to excellent undergraduate teaching and to developing a vibrant research program that involves undergraduates of all experience levels and from diverse backgrounds, including those who are traditionally underrepresented in the sciences. Candidates with research experience in diversity, broadly defined (e.g., race, gender, sexual orientation, age, or social class) are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will join a departmental community with a wide range of research and teaching interests and will benefit from extensive support for junior faculty, including start-up funding, pre-tenure research leave, funding for student-faculty research collaboration via the Summer Science Research Program and The OWU Connection, and a range of workshops and mentoring programs.

Responsibilities
Teaching Introduction to Psychology (PSYC 110), Quantitative Methods (PSYC 210), Social Psychology (PSYC 252), Organizational Psychology (PSYC 264)
Advising students in their academic journey
Engaging in a consistent and focused line of research in their area of expertise
Providing service to the department, university, and profession
Assisting in curriculum development, revision, and evaluation
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Social or Personality Psychology or a related discipline
Evidence of preparation for a teaching at the undergraduate level
Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and a commitment to helping students from diverse racial, social, and cultural groups attain their full potential
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as the Instructor of Record for an undergraduate psychology course, including courses with a quantitative focus
Experience mentoring undergraduate students in research experiences
Ability to contribute courses, mentoring, and/or advising in related programs, such as Data Analytics, Economics & Business, Africana & Gender Identity Studies, and Social Justice
