Job Summary: |
The Assistant Director is a member of the Center for Student Engagement, Activities, and Leadership team. The Center is a part of the Division of Student life and includes the Office of Student Activities; The Wilks Institute for Leadership and Service; and the Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life. The Assistant Director reports to an Associate Director of the Center and works with colleagues and stakeholders in the enhancement of community engagement, civic engagement, and leadership development at Miami University. This position supervises several student staff members. Additional opportunities include professional development through participation in conferences and trainings, including certification as a CliftonStrengths™ Coach. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with students, campus partners, community leaders, and departments to provide students with the opportunity to engage with communities of interest and develop a sense of belonging. This position may represent the Center through campus committees that support the leadership, service, and civic engagement mission of the Wilks Institute. The Assistant Director also fosters close working relationships with campus partners, community partners, and community-based organizations. The Assistant Director works with the entire Center and other colleagues to develop and implement opportunities for students to understand their leadership skills and how they can use them to positively impact the community. The Center is a vibrant and collaborative team committed to continued growth and development for Miami University students and our team members.

Duties/Physical Demands: | ? Exercise collaborative leadership within the Center to facilitate the coordination of the C-SEAL Ambassadors program (peer leaders/facilitators) and other traditional service, leadership, and community engagement programs.

Minimum Qualifications: | ? Bachelor’s degree

Desired Qualifications: | ? Master’s Degree in Leadership/Management, College Student Personnel, Social Work, Education or related field
