Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate, empathetic, talented, and collaborative Associate Teacher for grades 1-5.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Teaching/Planning:
• Plans, organizes, and implements developmentally appropriate learning experiences and classroom environment to fulfill The Willows’ mission, curricula, and programs, and ensures students find passion, purpose, and relevancy in their learning
• Collaborates with co-teachers in facilitating and leading daily learning activities
• Supports a full day of learning in the classroom in a multitude of ways: leads lessons, facilitates break out groups and one-on-one support, and assists lead teachers, etc.
• Provides differentiated instruction to meet individualized needs by creating meaningful relationships, and practicing growth mindset
Curriculum:
• Participates in regular review, revision, development, and documentation of curriculum by utilizing recent research in neuroscience, education, and psychology
• Participates in establishing grade level and school level curriculum goals
Students/Staff/Community Relations:
• Creates warm and uplifting professional relationships with students, families, and all constituencies of the school
• Communicates with students, families, and administrators effectively concerning student progress
• Always serves as a model for the school, on and off campus
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in the life of the school by attending student assemblies, plays, athletic events, concerts, faculty in-service meetings, and other school events
• Provide supervision for lunch, recess, carpool, etc. and other duties as assigned
• Write narrative progress reports and facilitate parent-teacher conferences
• Chaperone overnight class trips as needed
• Attend weekly faculty meetings and actively participate in curricular discussions
• Fulfill other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
• A love for lower school students is a must
• Possess the minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/ university
• A master’s degree and/or elementary teaching credential, plus one to three years of classroom teaching experience is preferred
• Fluency with social media platforms and technologies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive self-starter who takes initiative
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Detail-oriented thinker and multi-tasker
• Effective time management skills

Full-time Position. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications; $45,000-$65,000. Benefit options include medical, dental, and vision package.
