Description of Work:
The Homeless Management Information System Trainer is an essential member of the UNL-CCFL Community Services Division. The HMIS Trainer position is pivotal in ensuring that licensed end users have an understanding of and ability to effectively use the Clarity HMIS data system. The HMIS Trainer provides comprehensive virtual and in person training, support, and guidance to HMIS users in the City of Lincoln and the Nebraska Balance of State (all counties outside of City of Lincoln, Dakota County, and Omaha Metro). The HMIS Trainer works with CCFL staff to develop and administer the HMIS training system, modules, and products. In collaboration with the HMIS Team at CCFL, the HMIS Trainer liaisons with the Bitfocus Clarity software provider in monitoring upcoming software changes, monitors U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements for incorporation within training, and works with all CCFLHMIS funding entities to ensure that HMIS train meets needs of the funding source. The HMIS Trainer is a key contributor in the State of Nebraska homeless system response, training end users to effectively operate within the HMIS system and thereby optimizing data management, data quality, and reporting that are essential CCFL Community Service's mission. The HMIS Trainer may also serve as a backup to other HMIS System Administrators when needed.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in community planning; database management , social work or similar field, plus 1 year experience working with an HMIS or case management software; equivalent education/experience considered. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information in a clear and understandable manner. Ability to adapt training methods to suit different audiences and learning styles. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Work history will show experience working in a team environment, usage of Microsoft Office products, and communicating effectively on task-oriented projects. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree preferred. One or more years' experience as a licensed user of HMIS implementation using Clarity or similar software. Previous experience in training, teaching, or instructional design is preferred. Familiarity with homeless services, social services, or related fields is a plus. Experience with HMIS software, i.e. Clarity, ServicePoint, or others.
