Bergen Community College is accepting applications for adjunct positions in the division of Business, Arts and Social Sciences. Below are the disciplines we are currently hiring for and the requirements for each.
Social Sciences:
The mission of the Social Science Department (which houses Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology) here at Bergen Community College is to promote excellence in the teaching and learning of each discipline by providing students with an awareness of the connections of each subject to other subjects and to strengthen each student’s ability to apply theories experientially. By offering a broad selection of courses that are designed to meet diverse student needs, the Social Science Department faculty promote critical thinking through coursework that emphasizes problem solving and applications while also introducing students to the effective uses of technology in the discipline. The department promotes scholarly activity and encourages and supports faculty collaboration in developing current and relevant curriculum.
Courses and Requirements:
Psychology – College Level
Required: Master’s degree in Psychology or related field, At least one year of College-level teaching experience preferred.
Anthropology – College Level
Required: Master’s degree in Anthropology or related field, At least one year of College-level teaching experience preferred.
Economics – College Level
Required: Master’s degree in Economics or related field, At least one year of College-level teaching experience preferred.
Political Science – College Level
Required: Master’s degree in Political Science or related field, At least one year of College-level teaching experience preferred.
Sociology – College Level
Required: Master’s degree in Sociology or related field, At least one year of College-level teaching experience preferred.
Social Work - College Level
Required: Master’s degree in Social Work/Sociology, At least one year of College-level teaching experience preferred. Clinical and field experience will be considered.
