Instructor - Psychology and Chemical Dependency Practitioner (Spring 2025 - Tenure Track)

MVCC is seeking to fill a full-time, tenure-track, ten-month Instructor position in the School of Public and Human Services. This position will provide instruction for the Psychology AS and Chemical Dependency Practitioner AAS programs. Teaching faculty at MVCC have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the College mission of providing high-quality educational opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students. Full-time faculty members teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Courses may be taught in traditional classroom settings and over the Internet. This position may include both daytime and evening classes on our Utica and/or Rome campuses. Specific assignments will be made according to the academic qualifications and availability of the individual and the School needs. In addition to teaching psychology, addiction studies and human services courses, full-time instructors participate in program assessment, curriculum development, student advisement and facilitating student internship experiences. They serve as members of various School and College Committees.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Psychology or Social Work (MSW) with NY State licensure (i.e., LMSW, LCSW)

• Experience in addiction counseling

Preferred Qualifications

• NYS CASAC Certification
