Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of the Pacific invites applications for a 3-year (renewable and promotable), full-time 9-month Instructor position starting July 2025. Non-tenure-track faculty members collaborate in fulfilling the University's mission to provide a superior, student-centered learning experience integrating liberal arts and professional education and preparing individuals for lasting achievement and responsible leadership in their careers and communities. Non-tenure track faculty members engage primarily in teaching. Teaching responsibilities may include lecture and lab in the following subjects: non-majors Biology, non-majors Anatomy & Physiology, Human Anatomy (model based), Human Physiology, Histology, or other courses that fit the candidate's training. The teaching load will be 6 courses (including labs) over 2 semesters.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in biology, or a closely related field.
Educational or professional experience in the area of instructional responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Doctorate degree in biology, or a closely related field.
Postdoctoral experience.
Experience as primary instructor of record for a previous course.
Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
