Job Description
Verde Valley School seeks a skilled and enthusiastic history teacher with the ability to teach 10th grade American History and IB History full-time in a rigorous academic setting. Social Science classes at Verde Valley School are writing-intensive courses that emphasize research and analysis.. Teachers at Verde Valley School use an innovative approach to teaching--including primarily experiential, student-centered methods; the use of technology and many poly-modalities activities that honor multiple intelligences. Faculty lead one extracurricular sport/activity twice each week. Faculty supervise students one evening per week and one weekend per month. On-campus housing and meals at the dining hall are provided.
Preference is given to candidates who have:
Experience teaching high school teaching (ideally IB or AP)
IB program experience and training
Previously worked in a residential setting
The ability to coach sports or activities offered at VVS
Experience leading multi-day, outdoor trips
