The Art Department at Westfield State University seeks applications for part-time instructors. These particular job postings are for an online Animation 3 instructor for Fall 2024, a Printmaking 1 and 2 instructor for Fall 2024-Spring 2025, hybrid or in-person Writing for Art and the Artist instructor for Fall 2024, and an 'Open Pool' position for Fall 2024-Spring 2025. The only available openings for Fall 2024 are the positions listed above, but when an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on file as needed.
The Part-Time Faculty Pool is open to qualified and competent experts, external to the University faculty who possess skills, education and experience in an academic and/or professional area. All part-time faculty are responsible for providing our students with a high-quality learning environment. Responsibilities include instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes; instructional preparation; assessment of student performance, including submission of final grades in a timely fashion; availability to students by appointment when mutually convenient; course syllabus; a limited number of faculty meetings.

Printmaking 2, Monday and Wednesday, 3:10 - 5:55 pm, in-person
Writing for Art and the Artist, Tuesday and Thursday, 11:15 am - 12:30 pm, in-person or hybrid
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Teach course(s) in specific discipline
Responsible for instructional preparation and assessment of student performance
Provide assistance to students by appointment
Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
An earned Bachelor's Degree in Animation, Illustration, Art History, or Studio Art; an MFA along with collegiate teaching experience preferred.
