Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Founding Director of Speech Language Pathology (SLP) Program.
- Develop and Teach SLP courses.
- Involvement with and responsible for the process of accreditation with the Council on Accreditation in Audiology and Speech Pathology (CAA) and/or ASHA.
- Accreditation compliance, annual reporting, and accrediting and re-accreditation activities.
- Advising and providing support for SLP and Department of Child, Adolescent and Advocacy students.
- Pursuing on-going research agenda and scholarly activities.
- Serve on program, department, college and university committees.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators and members of the community to meet program department, college and university goals.
- Instruct classes (in-person, online, hybrid) on the Winona and/or Rochester campuses at varied times including evenings and weekends for the Department of Child, Adolescent and Advocacy Studies.
- Responsibilities will be performed in person on campus each pay period when classes are in session. Some telework may be possible dependent upon the needs of the department, college, and university.
- Participate in the university's shared governance process.
- Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
- Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
- Contribute to student growth and development including student advising, participation in student assistance planning, and review of student teaching materials and resumes.
- Provide service to the university and community including the program, the department, the college, the university, and the greater community. Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters Degree from an accredited university in Speech Language Pathology, Communication Science Disorders, Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences or an affiliated field.
- Minimum of 2 years applied experience working with children and family advocacy.
- Licensed or eligible for license in Minnesota.

- Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
- Effective communication skills – ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Relevant teaching experience at the college level.
- Demonstrated research experience and agenda relevant to Speech Language Pathology/Communication Disorders.
- Post-graduate training including coursework, workshops and seminars.
- Ability to use classroom technology and innovative teaching methods.
- Experience in Speech Language Pathology or related field.
- Experience with individuals with diverse backgrounds and underrepresented populations.
- Demonstration of/potential for scholarly productivity.
- Demonstration of/potential for working collaboratively with community-based organizations, school districts and/or the broader community.
