African American History
Carleton College invites applications for an open-rank (tenure-track or tenured) position in African American History to begin September 1, 2022. We welcome applications from all subfields of African American history. A Ph.D. in African American history or a related field is expected by the time of appointment. Teaching responsibilities will include surveys of African-American history, more specialized courses and seminars in the candidate’s areas of specialization and interest, and opportunities to advise theses and independent research. The successful candidate will join a vibrant History Department and have opportunities to contribute to a growing interdisciplinary Africana Studies Program, with specific teaching and administrative ob
